Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970: The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to: The hazard of falling while attached to a load being elevated. An employee was attached to a Transmission Cable and was not secured by a separate safety line while the cable was being elevated, on or about 3/17/94 Among other methods, one feasible and acceptable abatement method to correct this hazard is to secure the person being elevated by a safety line attached to the lift cable at a point above and separate from the point where the load is attached.
