Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970: The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to: (a)Main shop, hazard of being struck by pieces of PVC pipe and/ or compressed air from broken PVC pipes in that PVC piping designated ASTM - D1785 was used to carry compressed air throughout the facility. Feasible abatement methods include but are not limited to: 1)Providing metal piping such as black iron pipe which is designed for the purpose and service to which it is subjected.g
