Text For Citation: 01 Item/Group: 001 Hazard: FALLING
Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970: The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to fall hazard: (a) At the worplace at 400 Eanest W. Barrett Parkway, NE Kennesaw, Georgia while engaged in changing light bulbs, employees were exposed to fall hazard, due to Genie Personnel Lift Equipment being improperly erected, on or about March 20, 1992. The employer failed to ensure that employees used equipment properly, as designed by manufacturer. Among other methods, one feasible and acceptable abatement method to correct this hazard is for the employer to ensure, before using any equipment, that emplyees dreview all equipment operation manuals, and to ensure that employees follow all eerection specifications, and operation instructions.
