Text For Citation: 01 Item/Group: 001 Hazard: FALLING
Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970: Employee was exposed to fall hazards which could result in serious physical harm or death while walking a horizontal steel support to gain access to a tubular welded scaffold: (a) West side of Boilers: Employee was exposed to fall hazards and serious physical harm or death while walking a horizontal steel beam approximately 15-17 feet high without any type of fall protection. Among other methods of abatement would be for the employee to go down the ladder to the floor below and walk over to the scaffold and access the scaffold from the floor below with another ladder or other safe means of access.
