Text For Citation: 01 Item/Group: 001 Hazard: HEAT

Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970: The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to: (a) 404 Keystone Drive; Several delivery vans were noted to have defects which could have an effect on safe performance: (1) Van 02413 had a cracked windshield, no heater and windshield wipers which didn't work. (2) Vehicle 02279 had a worn front tire. (3) Vehicle 92147 had windshield wipers which didn't function and the front passenger side tire was down to the wear bar. (4) Vehicles 02277 and 82187 both had a defective front tire. (5) Vehicle 92147 has windshield wipers which work sporadically. The front tires are also out of alignment. (6) Vehicle 2413 has a cracked windshield. Among other methods, one feasible and acceptable abatement method to correct this hazard is maintain the vehicles in a safe operating condition per applicable laws.
