Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970: On or about 9/16/91 the employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to a fire/explosion hazard when working in a repair/storage building adjacent to and less than 5 feet away from a 1000-gallon, above ground, horizontal tank containing gasoline: a) On 9/16/91, two employees were working in the reapir building when a fire started inside. The gasoline tank was only 5 inches away from the building. Among other methods, one feasable and acceptable abatement method is to move the gasoline tank to a location 5 feet away from the building.
