Text For Citation: 01 Item/Group: 001 Hazard: FALLING
Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970: The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to falling trees: (a) Three Sisters Sale, Bayview, Idaho - On or about March 8, 1993 and at times prior thereto, snow shovelers were working within two tree lengths of faller. Among other methods, one feasible and acceptable abatement method to correct this hazard is: (1) Establish procedures to maintain a minimum of two tree lengths between fallers and any other workers. (2) Maintain strict supervision and enforcement of all safety and health rules.
