Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970: The %% employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to: %% (a) The hazard of potential hydrogen cyanide gas inhalation from improper storage of sodium cyanide and potassium cyanide salts adjacent to acid salts and sodium hydroxide at Montana Silversmiths, in the plating room. Among other methods, one feasible means of abatement is to move the containers of cyanide salts to an area well removed from containers of acid salts and sodium salts. %% %% %%
