Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970: The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to: a) Being struck by collapsing building structures - post and other support structures along the main aisle in warehouse #2 were observed in damaged condition. Among other methods, one feasible and acceptable abatement to correct this hazard is to strengthen the posts and other structures, provide protection around the posts to prevent the posts from being struck by forklift, provide more training to forklift operator, have employees report all accidents, and have engineer inspect and evaluate the condition of the building.
