Text For Citation: 01 Item/Group: 001 Hazard:
Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970: The employer does not furnish to each of his employees employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards of being struck-by a falling load which are causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees a. This violation occurred on or about May 04, 2015, on the south side the construction site where an employee was exposed to struck-by hazards while standing under the elevated portion of a JLG rough terrain forklift with a load of 2 sections of precast concrete. b. This violation occurred on or about May 04, 2015, on the south side the construction site where employees were exposed to struck-by hazards when a basket sling was used to suspend a load below the forks of a JLG rough terrain forklift while employees hand guided the load. Pursuant to 29 C.F.R. 1903.19, within ten (10) calendar days of the abatement date, the employer must submit documentation describing the actions it is taking to ensure that employees are not exposed to struck-by hazards.
