Text For Citation: 01 Item/Group: 001 Hazard:
29 CFR 1910.212(a)(1): One or more methods of machine guarding was not provided to protect the operator and other employees in the machine area from hazards such as those created by point of operation, ingoing nip points, rotating parts, flying chips and sparks: The employer does not ensure that machine guarding is provided to protect employees in the machine area from ingoing nip points. This violation occurred on or about April 11, 2015, at the Harris #7 press where an employee was exposed to caught-in hazards when assisting with removing a paper jam as the printing rollers were inched without the lower guard in place on the back side of the color unit. Pursuant to 29 C.F.
