OSH ACT of 1970 Section (5)(a)(1): OSH ACT of 1970 Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970: The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which was free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to caught in hazards of the rotating shaft of the speed lathe while wearing a glove and polishing a rod. The glove came in contact with the rotating shaft on the speed lathe: a) On or about 04/02/15 in the Plant 1Tool room; employee was wearing a light duty nylon glove on their right hand while polishing a metal rod on the Hardinge Speed Lathe resulting in an amputation injury.
