OSH ACT of 1970 Section (5)(a)(1): The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which was free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to heat stress, heat exhaustion and heat stroke. On or about March 17, 2015, at the Valero Norco Alkylation Unit, the employees were exposed to the hazard of excessive heat from wearing multiple layers of clothing to include an impermeable chemical suit, while working in elevated temperatures as they were cutting with a blade saw and removing process piping from a suspended pipe rack.
