Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970: The %% employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to: a) On or about March 3, 1989 sand was not removed from the East 2 Sand Storage Bin located in the Moldmaster Area prior to employees entering bin. Among other methods, one feasible and acceptable abatement method to correct this hazard would be to use a mechanical vibrator let down from the top opening by rope or cable to dislodge sand bridging as specified in ANSI Z241.1-1981 E.5.3.1.1.
