Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970: The %% employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which werefree from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death orserious physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to: (a) Employees riding in a company owned blue Ford van were exposed to the hazards of being thrown within the van. Employees were seated on bench seats that were not secured to the vehicle, while the van was moving. Among other methods, one feasible and acceptable abatement method to correct this hazard is to secure the bench seats to the van.
