Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970: The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likley to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to: Employees exposed to hydrogen cyanide gas by mixing silver cyanide and acid, Hang Time tiolet bowel cleaner. Among other methods, feasible and acceptable abatement methods to correct this hazards is: 1) Separate silver cyanide plating tank from acid washing by installing two respective rinse tanks between each process with copious flow of fresh water. 2) Train employees on hazards of mixing cyanide and acid.
