Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970: The Employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that: a) Located along the exterior area of the structure, employee(s) were observed exposed to the hazard associated with falls in excess of 9 feet from a Mec Model 2647ES self-propelled elevating work platform while working in elevated positions. Among other methods one feasible and acceptable method to correct this hazard is to assure entry chains are in place and secured before raising the platform.e
