29 CFR 1910.176(b): Secure storage. Storage of material shall not create a hazard. Bags, containers, bundles, etc., stored in tiers shall be stacked, blocked, interlocked and limited in height so that they are stable and secure against sliding or collapse. a. On or about January 16, 2015 employees were exposed to struck-by hazards created by the presence of improperly stacked pallets. Stacked pallets were not limited in height and were not stacked squarely atop each other. Stacks of pallets were leaning and unstable. The Dollar Tree Distribution, Inc. was previously cited by the Hartford Area Office for a serious violation of this occupational safety and health standard or its equivalent standard 29 CFR 1910.176(b), which was contained in OSHA inspection number 966521, citation number 1, item number 1, and was affirmed as a final order on June 6, 2014, with respect to a workplace located at 99 International Drive, Windsor, CT 06095.
