29 CFR 1910.169(b)(3)(i): Compressed air receiver(s) were not equipped with indicating pressure gauge(s) and a spring loaded safety valve(s): a- Tank 724 - 800 Billingsport Road, Paulsboro NJ: On or about 01/02/15, an employee operated a high pressure blast pot that was not equipped with a spring loaded safety valve(s). This exposed the employee(s) to the hazard of being struck by high pressure sand and/or propelled objects due to the potential of the air receiver's over pressurization. Among other methods, a feasible and acceptable abatement method to correct these hazards would be to install a spring loaded safety valve(s) in accordance with the ASME Boiler and Pressure Vessel Code Pressure Vessels Division 1 - Section VIII - 1968 Edition - Sub Section A - General Requirements - Part UG - Pressure Relief Devices - page 53. b- Tank 724 - 800 Billingsport Road, Paulsboro NJ: On or about 01/02/15, an employee operated a high pressure blast pot that was not equipped with an indicating pressure gauge(s). This exposed the employee(s) to the hazard of being struck by high pressure sand and/or propelled objects due to the potential of the air receiver's over pressurization. Among other methods, a feasible and acceptable abatement to correct these hazards would be to install an indicating pressure gauge(s) in accordance with the ASME Boiler and Pressure Vessel Code Pressure Vessels Division 1 - Section VIII - 1968 Edition - Sub Section A - General Requirements - Part UG - Pressure Relief Devices - page 53. NOTE: IN ADDITION TO ABATEMENT CERTIFICATION, THE EMPLOYER IS REQUIRED TO SUBMIT ABATEMENT DOCUMENTATION FOR THIS ITEM. FAILURE TO COMPLY WILL RESULT IN AN ADDITIONAL PEANLTY OF $1000.00 IN ACCORDANCE WITH 29 CFR 1903.19.
