Section 1-201(a) of the Executive Order 12196, dated February 26, 1980. The head of each agnecy shall furnish to employees places and conditions of employment that are free from recognized hazards in that employees were likely to cause death or serious physical harm in that employees were exposed to the hazard of being struck or crushed beneath a falling load. a) Employees performing work underneath vehicles raised on the Weaver Twin post vehical lifts, were exposed to the hazard of being struck by a falling load. These lifts were equipped with inoperable safety latches that were not properly maintained and periodically inspected to insure that the load would be supported in the event the hydraulic system should fail. These actions should be in accordance with ANSI STD 153-1-1974 Sections 3.1.10 and 6.3.
