Text For Citation: 01 Item/Group: 001 Hazard: FALLING
Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970: The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to fall hazards: a. Multiple injuries from fall hazards associated with two employees walking the web of beam 11B6 from the secured west end to the unsecured east end to make the connection to Column 1CZ; as per ANSI A10.13-1972 Section 8.2, when connectors are working in pairs, one end of steel shall be bolted before going out to connect the other end, and then only one connector shall go out to fasten the other end, on or about July 8, 1993. Among others, one feasible means of abatement would be to have one employee on steel to make connection at un-bolted end.
