OSH ACT of 1970 Section (5)(a)(1): Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970: The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employee(s) in that employee(s) were exposed to the hazard of being struck-by: a/ Inside of the Shipping Area at 4328 Bridgeton Industrial Park Drive, Bridgeton, MO 63044: Employees were exposed to a struck-by hazard due to a possible unplanned collapse of large storage racks already in use and found to be insufficiently secured near the shipping area. b/ Inside of the Old Sheet Metal Area at 4328 Bridgeton Industrial Park Drive, Bridgeton, MO 63044: Employees were exposed to a struck-by hazard due to a possible unplanned collapse of large storage racks already in use and found to be insufficiently secured in the "Old Sheet Metal" area. One method of abatement to correct this apparent hazard is to anchor each shelving unit with a sufficient number of column base plates and anchor bolts as required by ANSI MH16.1-2012, paragraph 1.4.7.
