Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970: The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to the exposure to the hazard of overfilling above ground tanks containing crude oil, which could result in tank fire or explosion: (a) Northern Colorado Brine, 100600 Weld County Road #54, Milliken, CO 80543: On or about 11/16/92, two employees were burned when a tank containing heated crude oil exploded when the oil overflowed onto the employee below and an explosion occurred at the bottom of the tank, from an ignition source, seriously injuring both employees.
