29 CFR 1926.555(a)(8): All conveyors in use did not meet the applicable requirements for design, construction, inspection, testing, maintenance, and operation, as prescribed in the ANSI B20.1-1957, Safety Code for Conveyors and Related Equipment: The employer does not ensure that all conveyors in use meet the applicable requirements for design, construction, inspection, testing, maintenance, and operation, as prescribed in the ANSI B20.1-1957. This violation occurred on or about October 8, 2015, in the tunnel boring machine where employees were exposed to a stuck-by hazard when working with a conveyor that was not stable and did not meet the applicable requirements of ANSI B20.1-1957. Pursuant to 29 C.F.R. 1903.19, within ten (10) calendar days of the abatement date, the employer must submit documentation showing that it is in compliance with the standard, including describing the steps that it is taking to ensure conveyors meet the applicable requirements for design, construction, inspection, testing, maintenance, and operation, as prescribed in the ANSI B20.1-1957, Safety Code for Conveyors and Related Equipment.
