Abstract: At 4:30 p.m. on July 21, 2017, an employee was working for a farm labor contractor and crew leader. He and close to 32 coworkers were working in a field, detasseling corn. The employee had stomach problems after eating lunch. He kept working, thinking it was indigestion, until he passed out in the field at around 4:30 p.m. He was transported to Carle Foundation Hospital, in Bloomington, where he was admitted for treatment for heat stroke.
