Abstract: At approximately 10:50 a.m. on September 10, 1991, Employee #1 was attempting to cut an approximately 5 in. long piece of wood baseboard at a 45 degree angle while holding the piece in his left hand and operating a Makita miter saw, model LS1000, serial #200SE, with his right hand. The piece was pulled into the saw blade, causing his left thumb and index finger to contact the revolving saw blade. Employee #1 sustained lacerations to his thumb and finger. He was transported by paramedics to Sacramento Medical Center in Sacramento, where he was admitted for treatment.
