Abstract: On August 1, 1988, Employees #1 and #2 were in department 790 to peel coat the pit in the spray paint booth. After a period of time, Employee #2 took over the peel coating while Employee #1 covered the pit lights with bags. At approximately 12:30 p.m. Employee #2 was finishing the peel coating and Employee #1 was about 15 feet behind him when a flash fire erupted in the pit.
