Abstract: At approximately 1:00 p.m. on March 14, 2006, a construction worker accidentally discharged a pneumatic nail gun while performing residential wood framing work, and suffered an abdominal puncture wound. The nail gun accidentally discharged a framing nail, that went through the employee's tool belt and into his mid-left abdomen. The safety manager was interviewed, and he stated that the employee had been working for the company for two days at the time of the injury, and could not produce records that the employee had received adequate training on the safe use of the nail gun. The employee was hospitalized and treated at Holy Cross Hospital.
