Abstract: At approximately 9:00 a.m. on March 5, 2007, Employee #1 was working for a framing contractor as a regular employee. He was using a pneumatic nail gun to nail shear panels made of compressed wood onto the living room wall of a residential home. He was on a Werner metal extension ladder about 5 feet above the floor level. As he tried to reach to his left side, the ladder slid to the right. He lost his balance and fell onto a concrete floor, sustaining a compound fracture in his left foot. He required surgery, and he was hospitalized for three days.
