Abstract: At approximately 7:30 a.m. on Monday, April 18, 2005, Employee #1 was working as a pieceworker/framer for his employer, S W Construction, Inc., of Anaheim, CA, at a residential construction project in Murrieta, California. He was using his own Hitachi pneumatic nailgun and inadvertently shot himself in his left wrist with a 3.25-in.-long fastener. A coworker took him to the Murrieta Springs Medical Center, Murrieta, California, for emergency medical care. He was admitted and kept hospitalized for two days. The medical report stated that he sustained an open fracture to his left distal ulna.
