Abstract: At approximately 1:15 p.m. on March 22, 2006, Employee #1, a highway construction laborer who was wearing an orange shirt, was in the process of replacing guardrail in the median between the inner loop and outer loop of I-695 Eastbound, East of Route 295. The driver of a motor vehicle, who apparently fell asleep, struck Employee #1. He was transported by EMS to University of Maryland Shock Trauma Center, where he died as a result of his injuries.
