Abstract: At approximately 1:00 a.m. on July 22, 2005, Employee #1 was working as a truck driver. Standing on the ground next to the open driver's door of a 10-wheeler potato truck parked inside a storage building, he reached inside the cab and started the engine. The truck was in reverse, and it moved backward when the engine started. The truck's open door pushed Employee #1 back and pinned him between the door and a vertical support post for the building. Employee #1 sustained a fracture and possible other internal injuries to his chest. He was transported to Good Shepherd Medical Center in Hermiston, OR. He was later taken by helicopter to Legacy Emanuel Hospital & Health Center in Portland, OR. He was hospitalized.
