Abstract: On August 15, 1999, Employee #1 was operating a Hamilton Continuous Collator when he opened a guard to adjust forms being assembled by the machine. As he adjusted the forms within the machine, his right hand became pinned under a roller. The force of the roller tore the skin from the palm of his hand and trapped him in the machine. A rescue team was summoned and freed him from the machine using a cutting torch to cleave the roller in two. Once freed from the machine, he was evacuated to a hospital where surgeons reattached the palm of his skin. He did not fracture any bones or loose any range in motion in his hand because of the accident.
