Abstract: At 3:00 p.m. on October 26, 2007, Employee #1 was working on the construction of a new single-family home in Los Angeles, CA. Metal scaffolding approximately 30 ft high had been built up around the structure. He was working from the scaffold's wooden platform, installing bricks at the roof top of the house. Employee #1 had just finished his work for the day and was preparing to go home. There was no access ladder, so he used the rails to go up and down the scaffold. Employee #1 was climbing down when he lost his balance and fell approximately 16 ft to the ground. He sustained head and leg injuries, for which he was treated for four days at the UC-Los Angeles Hospital. As of November 29, 2007, Employee #1's right leg remained in a brace.
