Abstract: On December 27, 2003, an employee was carrying a bucket of molten asphalt across the roof, when he stepped into an open HVAC hole in the roof, which caused the tar to splash. As he was not wearing gloves or a long sleeved shirt, he received third degree burns to his right hand and forearm, and patchy second degree burns to his left forearm. He was hospitalized and treated for burns.
