Abstract: At approximately 5:45 a.m., on June 23, 2001, an employee of IMSA Building Products suffered a finger amputation. The employer manufactures of building products. At the time of accident, the employee was cutting 2 ft by 4 in by 10 ft lumber pieces from a 2 ft by 4 in by 20 ft stack of lumber by using a Skill Saw model HD 77. The saw jumped and the blade hit the victim's left hand amputating his index and middle fingers. The victim was immediately taken to an industrial clinic by his supervisor. After about an hour he was taken to San Antonio Hospital (Upland) by ambulance and after about two hours, he was transferred to Loma Linda University Medical Center and he was released the same day.
