Abstract: At approximately 1:00 p.m. on June 10, 2000, Employee #1, of Norco Ranch, was manually moving chicken food from one feeder to another to get it closer to the feeder's auger. As he was working, his right hand became caught in the moving auger, amputating his index and middle fingers. Employee #1 was transported by his supervisor to Parkview Hospital in Riverside (CA), where he was treated for three days. The employer was cited for serious violations of T8CCR 3314(a) and T8CCR 4075(a).
