Abstract: On February 27, 2008, Employee #1, a landscaper with Tsukada Landscape and Design, was constructing a wooden ledger. While fabricating the ledger he used a circular saw (Skilsaw, Model Number: 77, Serial Number: H0043938) to cut the 2x4 timbers. While cutting the lumber, the saw struck a knot in the wood and the lumber shot backwards, causing the hand of Employee #1 to hit the blade. He was hospitalized for an amputated left middle finger.
