Abstract: On June 1, 2005, Employee #1, a self-employed, state-licensed contractor was installing a fan in the bathroom at a two-story house. He was working in the attic, connecting or installing the fan housing on the bathroom ceiling when he somehow contacted a live wire. Employee #1 was electrocuted. The power, which had been on prior to the accident, was shut off, and paramedics from the Los Angeles County Fire Department removed his body from the attic. Once it was determined that Employee #1 was the sole owner of his company and that there was no employer-employee relationship, the OSHA investigation was terminated. No specific cause of the accident was determined.
