Abstract: On February 8, 2005, Employee #1, a temporary warehouseman, was working for a company that stores and transports sets, props, set dressing, vehicles, wardrobe and equipment for the motion picture and television industry. He was part of a 6-person crew moving a scenery wall so that it could be placed on a dolly and loaded onto a truck for delivery to an entertainment studio. The bottom of the scenery wall had an opening in the middle so it was decided that the wall would be "walked down" and flipped in order to secure it to the dolly. With employees standing on both sides of the wall, the crew began to lower it. The weight of the wall caused the employees to drop it. Employee #1 was pinned between the floor and the scenery wall. Other employees lifted the wall off of Employee #1 and he was transported to Henry Mayo hospital. After being released a few hours later, Employee #1 went home. Later he began to experience extreme pain and passed out. He was again taken to the hospital, where he was diagnosed with an abdominal hematoma and a hairline fracture of the pelvis. Employee #1 was hospitalized for six days for treatment, including surgery.
