Abstract: On August 9, 2003, Employee #1 was cutting panels and drawers stock for cabinets. Employee #1 was cutting a 2-ft by 3.75-in. melamine wooden board with the cutting blade about 1.75 in. above the table. The hood guard for the cutting blade was approximately 12 in. above the blade. When Employee #1 pushed the wooden stock material through the cutting blade his right hand fingers were amputated. Employee #1 was hospitalized.
