Abstract: On 28 August 2003, Employee #1, a carpenter, was nailing a backing board to a rafter using a nail gun. The backing board allows the gable studs to be nailed to the top plate. He started at the north end of the garage wall and was working his way south along an approximately 15-in.-wide header, a distance of roughly 25 ft. He was performing this task for about one hour when he fell approximately 9.58 ft to a concrete floor. He suffered a concussion, lacerated right eye, fractured right eye socket, fractured left wrist and a fractured right index finger. He was hospitalized.
