Abstract: At approximately 7:15 a.m. on March 3, 2003, a janitor had recently finished mopping a floor at Gootschalks Department Store when an employee walked on the slippery floor. The floor had a slight slope to it and a warning sign had been placed at the beginning of the sloped area, but the employee wasn't sure she saw the sign. The employee fell on the floor and fractured her right ankle. The janitor stated that he placed a warning sign in the center of the slippery floor. The employee stated that she observed the janitor moving a sign to the center of the walkway after her fall. The employee was transported and admitted to French Hospital for her injuries.
