Abstract: At approximately 9:00 a.m. on June 27, 2001, Employee #1, a tractor driver, was hit by two celery boxes that slipped off a trailer. Employee #1 and a coworker finished loading a trailer with waxed cardboard boxes of celery. The boxes were 12-in wide by 20-in long and 15-in high. They were stacked four boxes high on the trailer. The trailer bed is about 3.5-ft high, making the top of the top box 9 ft high. The trailer was at a slight angle and was not moving. All the boxes had been tied down except for the last row which had just been load. The coworker was preparing to tie down the boxes, when Employee #1 was walking near by the trailer and two boxes slipped off striking Employee #1. Employee #1 was taken to the hospital and treated for his injuries.
