Abstract: At approximately 4:16 p.m. on July 2, 2009, Employee #1 was performing landscaping activities at a jobsite located in San Diego, California. He sustained symptoms of heat illness, such as dizziness and cramping. A coworker noticed that Employee #1 did not look well and instructed him to stop working. Then, he called an ambulance for medical assistance. Employee #1 was taken to Paradise Valley Medical Center in National City, where he received treatment for heat illness. He was hospitalized for over 24 hours.
