Abstract: At approximately 1:30 p.m. on March 24, 2001, Employee #1, a 21- year old construction ironworker, fractured his skull when he fell ten feet while installing corrugated metal decks on the second floor of Building C. He was assisted by another coworker. His employer was involved in installing and erecting structural steel. Employee #1 and a coworker were lying light gauge composite metal decking on the second floor of Building C. While installing the last metal sheet, Employee #1 slipped off and fell approximately ten feet to the concrete floor. His coworker came down and found him still conscious. He helped Employee #1 get up and walked with him for approximately thirty feet. Employee #1 then passed out. His coworker immediately called for medical assistance. The paramedics arrived and transported Employee #1 to the Huntington Memorial Hospital, where he underwent surgery for blood clot on his brain.
