Abstract: At approximately 2:00 p.m. on September 15, 2009, Employee #1 was a carpenter for the Marden Construction Co., and was installing a floor joist for the second floor of a residential building being constructed. He was cutting a 1.75-in. by 11.75-in. by 11.875-in. piece of LVL wood. He was using a Bosch circular saw, Model Number 1677M, Serial Number H39003. The circular saw kicked back and amputated Employee #1's left thumb. He was hospitalized at Santa Rosa Memorial Hospital where his left thumb was reattached.
