Abstract: On july 25, 2007, Employee #1, a framer, and eight coworkers were standing up three prefabricated wall panels to join them into a 19 ft square, 1,900 lb wall. As the crew began its group lift, one coworker lost his grip on the load. The coworker left his position, which began a chain reaction among the other workers as they dropped the panels to escape from the vicinity. Employee #1 was unable to retreat to safety and was struck across the shins by a 2 by 6 stud. He suffered fractures to both legs, which were driven through the sub-floor by the force of the falling panel.
