Abstract: At approximately 7:30 a.m. on September 26, 1997, Employee #1 had just arrived at work when he fainted and fell against an office file cabinet. A coworker opened Employee #1's air passageways and found that he was still breathing. Paramedics arrived at 7:40 a.m., at which time Employee #1's heart rate was normal and his blood pressure was 132/90. He was talking and aware of his surroundings, and was able to help himself onto the ambulance gurney. En route to Allenmore Hospital, his heart started beating very slowly and he went into cardiac- respiratory arrest. Employee #1 was intubated and the paramedics began CPR. Upon his arrival at the hospital, CPR was continued along with bagging. This was followed by a course of drugs and cardio-shock treatments. Employee #1 was pronounced dead at 8:35 a.m.
