Abstract: At approximately 12:05 p.m. on April 1, 2005, Employee #1, a carpenter/framer for a framing contractor, was using a portable circular saw, Craftsman "Professional" 7.5 in. Model Number H3272. Employee #1 was cutting fire blocks when the saw bound up and kicked back, amputating his middle finger his left hand. The telescoping guard on the saw was functioning properly and was not pinned up. Employee #1 was hospitalized and treated for his injuries.
